Scientific Background Anisomycin is an antibiotic which inhibits protein synthesis (1). It interferes with protein and DNA synthesis by inhibiting peptidyl transferace on the 80S ribosome system. It can activate stress-activated protein kinases, MAPkinase and other signal transduction pathways.
